WHAT DOES PAGE BUILDER DO?

Your page builder allows you to build custom layouts for your website. This means that although kenesis still offers the already built layouts you can now in a few easy steps create your own fully customisable layout without any restrictions.

WHERE TO FIND YOUR PAGE BUILDER MODULE.

Once you have logged into the back end of Kenesis, click on the main Manger Tab and find the Page Builder Module under the Creation Centre. Once you have clicked on your Page Builder Module, your Page Builder would open on a blank screen and from here you can start customising and building your personalized layout to suit your requirements.

ALWAYS REMEMBER THE FOLLOWING.

Remember all the elements you have added in your page builder will be removed this is so you can preview what it will look like however you will still need to go to your page manager - layouts - and select the layout you created for the page you want it to display on.

Once you have logged into the back end of Kenesis, you would be able to click on the main Manger Tab and find the Page Builder Module under the Creation Centre.

Once a new page has been opened you will notice icons right on the top as well as your desktop/laptop/mobile icons.

1 - Save Current Page - (Save Icon)
2 - Settings - (Gears Icon)
3 - View Full Screen Mode (Esc to exit) - (Arrows Icon)
4 - Hide Menu – (Eye Icon)
5 - Enable Rulers – (R Icon)
6 - View Element Pixels – (Px Icon)

Saving Your Layout

Saving Your Layout.

Without saving all data will be lost, so please ensure to save before moving away from your layout. Here within you have two options.

1 - Save Layout ( enter a unique name, overwriting an existing page, save your page for later use )

2 - Save Layout And Create Page ( the layout name will not appear on the website but the page name will )

This is to add a background image and adjust the main containers width and padding. The main container refers to the width of your layout 

Once you have saved your custom designed layout and you are ready to populate it, go to your Page Manager and apply the layout to a page of your choice. Once that has been done click on the Edit Content / Options button and set your background image by selecting the image right at

View Full Screen Mode

View Full Screen Mode (Esc to exit)

View full screen allows you to view a live preview of your layout. This makes it easier while building to view exactly what you are creating. * Push Esc on your keyboard to exit your preview. Do not click the arrow, this will close your layout without saving.

Hide Menu

This allows you to hide your menu (navigation bar), meaning if you have added a top navigation in and you cannot view the contents behind the menu you can hide the menu so that you can edit objects behind the menu without removing the menu completely.

Enable Rulers

Enable Rulers 

By clicking on this icon you would activate your ruler view. This function allows to align everything you have inserted more precisely by working in mm. This can also be used to find the centre of the page etc. To insert a ruler line, click on either the horizontal or vertical ruler, hold the mouse button in and move your curser across the blank page. Once you have let go of the mouse button the ruler line will stick

Desktop - Laptop - Mobile Icons

Desktop - Laptop - Mobile Icons

This allows you to adjust your content, imagery, videos, widgets and modules that you placed on your desktop view. You will need to start with the desktop view then move to laptop then mobile. It uses the elements on the desktop version which you can resize to fit on laptop/mobile.

WHAT TO KEEP IN MIND WHEN USING PAGE BUILDER

Below you can view a few things to keep in mind when building your own layout. Not only do you need to remember to make your site responive,

but also how to add a few cool features such as coloured backgrounds and scrolling pictures.
